Nonetheless, good work with stage one. I (Barritt) didn't have the heart to wear out my parents with walking until I was at least a year. I see that you may not be so hamstrung by the mores of parental reverence the culture tries to instill. May I also suggest that you start reading Ayn Rand to accelerate this disposition you obviously have?

You can have it both! You can walk and still be picked up. I have found making panicky sounds usually bring mom straight to me and up into her arms. Of course, she sometimes gives me this look of skeptism but then I roll out the tears and she quickly comes to the rescue. Maybe German mothers are more stoic?
